You have several choices of sizes, shapes, and finishes in tables from Amish Barkwood Furniture.  All feature our beautiful barkwood trimming and edging, and all are very rustic with strength and heft.

The stunning octagonal table shown below here has the thick glaze finish already applied.  We recommend that for dining tables, you either buy the table with the thick glaze already applied, or buy it as a ready-to-finish piece, and then thick glaze it yourself.  Of course you can stain or colorize it first!
As you admire the octagon tables shown below, remember that we can have most of our furniture customized for your own special space or decorating needs.  Just call or write us to find out whether your idea can be done, and to learn if it will raise or lower the price.

You can finish the furniture yourself.  Apply a sanding sealer coat, then choose and apply a stain, and follow with a clear coat for protection.  In the photos below, the table and chairs are shown as "ready-to-finish", meaning that no sanding sealer, stain, or clear coats have been applied.  The color can be applied by your own use of stains or varnishes.  The tables and chairs are shown after assembly and final sanding, but without any finish coat.  You can buy these for a lot less money, and enjoy the creative fun of finishing them.  Be warned, though, it takes a lot of time, skill, and patience to do it well.

The flat surface in these photos of newly sanded pieces appear white because the sanding powder and dust reflect the bright light from the camera's flash in these photos.  After the sanding dust is removed, you can apply a sealer coat.  Then the wood has a natural light tan color, which can be stained if you want it darker.  Or coat with boiled linseed oil to protect the table from the weather when placed outdoors.  For long term outdoor usage, you should apply spar varnish for the best protection against moisture and the sun's Ultra Violet light.
